Jubilee Walk - 24th October 2025
Read all about our Sponsored Jubilee Walk here.
On 24th October, staff and students will be participating in a ‘Jubilee Walk’, to celebrate the Jubilee Year of the Catholic Church, and the 150th year anniversary of our School Chapel. Before his death, Pope Francis invited us to renew our hope and rediscover a spirituality in God's creation in which we understand ourselves as "pilgrims on the earth" rather than masters of the world.
The Jubilee Walk will be a ‘Pilgrimage of Hope’, and students and staff will visit representations from the school’s five houses, along their journey. Sixth Form students will create displays for Annay, Citeaux, Clairvaux, La Plaine, and our newest house, Rievaulx, so that students can learn about the school’s historic links to these important religious sites. Each year group will walk together, for one lesson, accompanied by their teachers, around the school grounds.
The walk will unite students in reflection and hope and raise money for the school’s Chapel Fund. Students are invited to wear their own clothes on the day of the walk, and contribute a voluntary payment of £2, which will be collected in registration from Wednesday, 15th October.
Students have also been asked if they would like to ‘go the extra mile’ and spend the whole morning walking, to raise money for the Jubilee Fund. Sponsorship forms are available from the School Office, and students who wish to take part, should return the form with their sponsorship monies by Monday 20th October at the latest.
We intend to complete the walk, whatever the weather, so please ensure your son or daughter is dressed appropriately for the day! In the event of rain, students will need to have a waterproof coat and suitable footwear.
We would like to thank you in advance for supporting this exciting and historic event, and the restoration of our beloved chapel. If you would like to find out more, or contribute to the Jubilee Fund, please follow this link:
