The Intent of the Vision

To become digitally literate and ready for the modern world, students need to learn in ways that develop understanding and enable them to gain transferable knowledge and skills. They will need to be able to apply their skills to solve unique challenges that they have not faced before.

This will be achieved through the St. Bernards LYOD scheme. The purpose of this scheme is to allow students to have a personal development of their essential workforce skills; including problemsolving, adaptability, and digital collaboration. This will help to better empower students as owners of their own learning.

We will use technology-enhanced learning experiences to better engage the working memory of our students. A seamless combination of traditional and digital approaches in the classroom will help students process information more efficiently and better develop the encoding of information into their long-term memory.

We will not move away from tried and tested methods of teaching such as direct instruction. By integrating technology seamlessly into our teaching, we aim to empower our staff with the tools and resources necessary to innovate and enhance delivery. With the expert guidance of Tablet Academy, we are building a carefully selected and planned approach to implementing the most effective teaching and learning methods.

Through our curriculum, we will integrate digital literacy training to ensure that students develop fundamental competencies in information online safety, and responsible digital engagement. This will prepare them for both academic success and responsible digital citizenship.
