Parent Governor Election

I would like to clarify the position regarding eligibility to vote in the Parent Governor election. Parent Governors are elected by and from the parents and guardians of children at the school. Anyone who is the parent or the guardian of a child attending the school is entitled to vote in the election. Each parent is, therefore, entitled to a vote. A parent who has more than one child in the school is still entitled only to a single vote.

Catholic Secondary Education in Slough

Dear Parents

The Diocese of Northampton has had meetings with members of the Governing Bodies of St Bernard’s Catholic Grammar School and St Joseph’s Catholic High School, Slough, to explore ways of developing and improving the provision of Catholic secondary education in Slough. These discussions are taking place at a time when major funding opportunities are limited since ‘Building Schools for the Future’ will not apply to Slough until 2017. The condition of the buildings in both schools is not good and both sites are in need of considerable refurbishment and modernisation, which could cost several millions of pounds.
