This letter was Mrs Image’s reply to Mr Schofield.

3. Letter from Mrs Image to the DCSF re. Slough Catholic Academy
Following a further Governors’ meeting, attended by the Diocese and members of the Local Authority, Mrs Image wrote to the DCSF, commenting on the difficulties with the proposed dates and the implications of a split site.

4. Letter from Mrs Image to the Chairs of Governors and Headteachers at St Bernard’s and St Joseph’s
This letter contained information which she requested to be passed on the parents.

Catholic Secondary Education in Slough

Dear Parents

The Diocese of Northampton has had meetings with members of the Governing Bodies of St Bernard’s Catholic Grammar School and St Joseph’s Catholic High School, Slough, to explore ways of developing and improving the provision of Catholic secondary education in Slough. These discussions are taking place at a time when major funding opportunities are limited since ‘Building Schools for the Future’ will not apply to Slough until 2017. The condition of the buildings in both schools is not good and both sites are in need of considerable refurbishment and modernisation, which could cost several millions of pounds.
